Q: What ages of children does ESLC care for?
A: Children from 6 weeks old through 12 years of age.
Q: What are ESLC’s hours?
A: The Chardon Road Center’s hours are 6:30am to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday.
The Richmond Road Center’s hours are 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday.
Q: What if I am running late to pick up my child?
A: We understand that parents try their best but some days just can’t get to the Center on time. Our staff will gladly stay with you child until you arrive, however we will need to add a charge to your bill to compensate our staff.
- If you pick up before our Center closes (6:30pm at Chardon Road or 6pm at Richmond Road) but are over your authorized hours, an hourly charge of between $6-10 per hour (varies by program) will be charged.
- If you pick up after our Center closes (6:30pm at Chardon Road or 6pm at Richmond Road), a charge of $20 per 15 minutes will be charged.
Q: What are your child care rates?
A: Please contact us to schedule a visit to our Center. We look forward to discussing our programs and services, as well as our enrollment process and costs.
Q: Does your Center offer full-time and part-time care?
A: Yes. We consider under 25 hours or 2-3 days per week is considered part-time. Our part-time program spots are limited per program.
Q: Does your Center currently have openings for kids?
A: Because our enrollment can vary, we ask that you please contact us or call us at 440-944-2223.
Q: Is your Center licensed with the State of Ohio?
A: Yes! We also are proud of our 3 star rating with Ohio’s Step Up to Quality program. See our About page for more information.
Parent Involvement
Q: Can I stop by and visit or observe my child at any time?
A: Yes! We have an Open Door Policy and parents are encouraged to visit unannounced anytime. We have observation windows for each classroom. We also have video cameras taping each classroom that you also may view while at our Center.
Q: Does ESLC have cameras monitoring each classroom?
A: Yes! We video monitor each classroom for internal use. For safety reasons, we do not broadcast the recordings live on the internet.
Q: Does ESLC provide parents with written daily reports?
A: In our Infant and Toddler classrooms, teachers do provide daily written reports for parents. Preschool and kindergarten parents receive written reports 2 times per week. For more on our parent communications, please visit Communications Commitment.
Q: Does ESLC have parent/teacher conferences?
A: We have 2 parent/teacher conferences a year, in the Spring and Fall.
Q: Does ESLC have a parent/teacher organization such as a PTA or PTO?
A: Yes! We have a Parent Teacher Organization that meets 4 times per year. For more on our PTO, please visit Parent Teacher Organization.
Programs & Services
Q: Does ESLC have Before and After School programs?
A: Yes! Our Center has a shuttle bus that will pick up or drop off your child at his/her school. Visit our Before & After School program page for more information.
Q: Does your Center offer foreign language programs?
A: We are excited to offer our children Spanish! See our Special Programs page for more information.
Q: When will my child advance to the next program?
A: Each child will be promoted into the next program based on his/her developmental readiness and availability of space. To ensure positive transition from program to program, your child will be gradually introduced to the program by spending a portion of his/her day in the new program. This entire progress will take approximately one week but may vary depending on the child’s ability to adjust to change.
