Toddlers

Early Steps Learning Center Toddler Program

About

the toddler care program

Our teachers plan thematic activities each day with your curious toddler in mind.  Together we explore the world around us and learn through play!

We are proud to offer better teacher to toddler ratios than required by the state of Ohio.  Having fewer toddlers to a teacher allows us to ensure that each toddler receives the attention and care that are critical for early development.

Program Features

Toddler Development

Finger plays, stories, songs and repeated rhymes are used to support  literacy skills.  American Sign Language and Spanish are integrated in the day’s activities.  At this important stage, your toddler is beginning to use language to develop and maintain peer relations.  As your toddler become more secure with himself, he will venture out exploring his social setting, participating group experiences and creating friendships.

Toddlers love using their new found skills of running, climbing and hand-eye coordination.  We give our toddlers the opportunity to practice using their large muscle skills by throwing, kicking and bouncing balls, running and using our climbing apparatus.

Our teaching team supports active learning through hands-on play, creates secure connections, and motivates exploration.

We support social development in 3 ways: providing an appropriate environment, creating opportunities for responsive social interactions and building stable relationships.
